When you’ve been out in the mountains for a while, your legs are beginning to ache and your stomach is telling you it’s lunchtime, it’s time to make your pitstop at a wonderful mountain inn. Just reading the menu and seeing what delectable South Tyrolean delights are available for you to sample is enough to make your mouth water.
Take the weight off your feet and enjoy a tasty treat, all the while marvelling at the stunning panoramic views all around you!
ROUTE:
Variant 1: A hiking destination for the whole family – just before Pfelders, starting from the Bergkristall Inn car park (path no. 9), this walk lasts about half an hour and is suitable for families with pushchairs and weaker hikers.
Variant 2: From Pfelders, take paths nos. 5 and 5b. You’ll get there in about 2 hours.

39013 Moos in Passeier Pfelders
ROUTE: From Pfelders, briefly follow the path towards Lazinser Tal, then take the path marked no. 6 to the Faltschnalalm. The old footpath takes you partly through steep and partly through gradually ascending forest slopes, you’ll reach your destination in about ¾ hour.
Opening Times: open from June to mid-October.

ROUTE: You can get to the Grünboden Inn in complete comfort by taking the Pfelders chair lift (1628m). If you want to hike it, walk up alongside the toboggan run (approx. 1 hour). The Grünboden Inn is open in summer from Wednesday to Sunday. Monday and Tuesday rest. The starting point for panorama path no. 4 and the stone labyrinth.

The “Echte Qualität am Berg” (True Quality on the Mountain) initiative rewards those mountain inn owners that run their businesses with dedication, guaranteeing genuine authenticity and quality on the mountain. The Meran marketing board awards the seal to all mountain inns and guesthouses that achieve at least “40 suns” on a compulsory test.
ROUTE: Starting at the large car park just outside Pfelders (1628m), follow the signs to Lazins. A wide, untarmacked track, only accessible to permit-holders, will take you on an easy hike with a sight incline through the canopy of the larch forest, via the Lazinser Hof, to Lazinseralm.

The Lazinserhof is a mountain inn (1782m) with overnight accommodation, serving traditional meals all year round and easy to reach for hikers of all ages and abilities.
The Pisten Pub, just above the Grünboden Express valley station, is the ideal place for a great après ski experience. Hot meals are served throughout the day and delicious pizza from the wood burning oven is available from 5pm onwards. In spring, you’ll not be able to resist sunning yourself on the large terrace.

“Inn of the Year” 2015 - “True Quality on the Mountain”
ROUTE: From Pfelders (1628m), take path no. 6a towards the Zwickauer Hütte. The steep, winding ascent takes you up to a sign pointing to the Schneidalm (1½ hours).
Opening Times: open from mid-June to mid-September.
Altitude Difference: 528m
Difficulty: Good physical conditioning and surefootedness required, otherwise easy and rewarding.
Manned from 1 July until 30 September. You can take either the no. 8 or the no. 24 from Pfelders (approx. 4 hours) or the Pfossen Valley-Vorderkaser (no. 24, approx. 4 hours). Starting point for hikes to Hohe Wilde (3480m) on the Hans Grützmacher path (approx. 1½ hours, difficult) and Hohe Weisse (3279m) on the Willy Ahrens path (1½ hours, difficult).
The Stettinerhütte was largely destroyed by an avalanche in February 2014. The tenant family took care of the establishment of a provisional for the catering of the hikers with drinks and dishes, as well as beds. In 2014, the state government decided to build the hut. The work started in the summer of 2020. 2022 the new hut was inaugurated and offers space for 76 overnight guests.
